Art Deco Inspired Wedding at Historic Yale Theater

March 18th, 2018

Kayla and Kyle are high school sweethearts…well, kinda.

In the tenth grade, the two of them went on a date to a movie and grabbed some sonic after. Then, they never spoke again. That is, until their freshman year of college when the two of them became close friends. Of course, as they say, the most beautiful relationships start off as friendships. The two went on their first official date and have been inseparable since.

One beautiful day, Kyle and Kayla went on a date to Oklahoma Tulips. Kayla had picked two of every color and was ready to go, when Kyle had sweet talked her into staying for just a bit longer. Although reluctant, Kayla agreed, which turned out to be the best decision. Kyle got down on one knee in a secluded area of the tulip field, and asked Kayla to marry him. Spoiler alert…she said yes!

Getting to know Kayla and Kyle has been an absolute pleasure of mine. The pair love each other so intensely and it’s so obvious by their raw emotion on the wedding day. Kyle is just absolutely goofy and loves making Kayla laugh, while Kayla is smitten by him and loves when he makes her laugh. Plus, they both really love ice cream!

Kayla and Kyle planned an art deco inspired wedding at the historic Yale theater in Oklahoma City. The Simpson wedding was executed with the most beautiful shades of blush and gold, as well as accents of mint from the exterior of the Yale Theater. The Party Queens planned, and executed, a stunning wedding from the layout of the reception to the timing of the ceremony. Wrong Number Floral provided the most beautiful blooms to bring their vision to life (just look at that bridal bouquet!). They had the best party following the ceremony with great music by DJ Keegan and a tasty cake from Cakes by Jen. Not to mention the fabulous dinner catered by Empire Pizza.

Kayla had an amazing glam team on her side for her wedding day. A dear friend, Megan Makenzie, gave her a gorgeous updo that was accentuated by her makeup artist, Makeup by Halie. She put on a simple, elegant gown from David’s Bridal.

I’m so glad I was able to witness, and capture, the love between Kayla and Kyle. A big THANK YOU to these two for choosing me to document their art deco inspired wedding on their best day yet.
