I love photographing my friends and family. There is something so neat about being trusted to document important milestones that I love so much. And the fact that those closest to me trust that I can do this is such an honor. Last month, I had the honor of photographing Payge and Braden. Payge is my cousin on down the line, and when her mom asking me to photograph her wedding, I was beyond honored. I hadn’t seen Payge in years, but she hadn’t changed a bit.
Although I knew Payge, I hadn’t met Braden. Meeting him made so much sense to me. The two of them were so gentle with each other and just melted in one another’s arms. The way they look at each other had me in awe – they were so in love and you can tell by the look in their eyes.
We had their engagement session at Lake Hefner. LH is one of my favorite places to shoot because it’s so versatile. Luckily, we had the chance to explore so many spots. We started our session by the sailboats. If you haven’t had the chance to visit this part of the lake, it’s worth it. There’s something I just really love about docked sailboats – I know, I’m weird. We also made our way into a field around the corner. This is one of my favorite spots at LH because it can appear so magical, especially at sunset. Lastly, we got to hit the hidden beach area. This was perfect for sunset!
I can’t believe that these two will be tying the knot in just a couple of months!
