borrowed and bleu rentals

There are many things to consider when it comes to typing a wedding together. You have to make sure that your linens match your wedding colors; you need some type of centerpieces for the reception; there has to be a certain flow for the transition from the ceremony to reception. One thing that brides often don’t consider when planning their wedding is investing in rentals. Most rental companies provide everything you could imagine – furniture, ceremony pieces, centerpieces, tableware, and more! Investing in rentals is a way to take the stress off of you and assure a cohesive look at your wedding.

This week’s vendor spotlight focuses on one of my favorite rental companies: Borrowed & Bleu Co. The ladies at B&B are fantastic! Specializing in vintage furniture rentals, they are sure to have exactly what you need. I first worked with these wonderful ladies on our Pretty in Pink Styled Shoot in which they provided the most elegant pink furniture, along with various vintage pieces. I recently worked with them on another styled shoot and once again they came through with the perfect pieces!

Tell us about yourselves.

We’re Jordan McCoy, Jacey Kean, and Rylee Pogue, owners of Borrowed & Bleu. We are two sisters and a cousin with a love of vintage things and family. Our family is very close, in more ways than one! In addition to Borrowed and Bleu, Jacey and I(Jordan) work at our family oil business, and our three families eat dinner together multiple times a week. We also all live within about 2 miles from one another, so like we said… close! haha Jordan is the artist of the bunch, there isn’t a creative project she won’t attempt! She is the mom of the bunch, and we are always entertained by her two wild kiddos. Jacey is our business minded girl! She keeps track of invoicing and finances. She loves to start her day with a large Sonic Coke or sweet tea, and she is a dog mom to four 70 pound dogs!! Rylee is the funny one, she always has us laughing! She is currently in nursing school and will graduate next Spring as an RN. She also likes to collect farm animals, and has 20 goats, 17 chickens, and 2 ducks! We have always enjoyed decorating, and Jordan has been buying vintage furniture to reupholster and repaint for years. After planning and decorating both Jacey’s wedding and my own (Jordan), we jumped at the chance to buy a local vintage rental company when the original owner decided to put it up for sale. Since then we’ve hit the ground running, renovating an old building to house our pieces and growing the inventory well past what the building will hold. We love helping our brides bring their vision of their big day to life!

Talk to us about the services that Borrowed & Bleu Co. provides.

We provide rentals of all kinds, from our signature stained cathedral window backdrop, to lounge areas, farmhouse and sweetheart tables to cake stands, chalkboard signs to vintage china and glassware. All of our inventory is priced by piece, and brides can rent as much or as little as they would like. And all of our pricing is for a 72 hour rental, so you don’t have to rush to get it delivered back to us after you say I do! And we don’t only provide rentals for weddings. We rent for any event, and also rent furniture and props to photographers for family and mini sessions. We love our local photographers!

Share your business journey with us.

We have been so fortunate to work with so many great vendors since we started last March. Everyone we have worked with has welcomed us into this exciting industry with open arms! We have grown our inventory much faster than we planned, but we hope to be able to continue to grow and add new and exciting pieces for our brides to choose from.

What’s the benefit of investing in wedding day rentals?

We think one of the biggest benefits of wedding rentals is not having to buy a lot of decor that you will be stuck with afterward. You can borrow a bunch of great stuff for a weekend and return it on Monday. Our Mother’s house is still full of things we bought for our weddings, and she probably wishes it wasn’t!

What sets you apart from other rental companies?

We specialize in vintage items, so our shop is full of unique pieces with tons of character. We also love a project, so if we don’t have something you’re looking for you can always ask about it. Our husbands have built tables, backdrops, and even a wooden couch!

What’s the biggest piece of advice you could give a bride?

Rent what you love and don’t be afraid to use things in unexpected ways! Just have fun with it! Don’t be afraid to mix and match colors and styles!
