An Engagement Session at the Dallas Arboretum

March 18th, 2018

Heather and Ben are a true match made for each other. Heather, a pilot and aircraft mechanic, met Ben, also an aircraft mechanic, years ago. They bonded over their love for aviation. Five years later, on Christmas Eve, Ben asked Heather to be his wife in front of their favorite sushi restaurant. Spoiler alert…she said YES! When we began talking about their engagement session, I loved her vision and the sentiment behind their locations. We spent the first part of their engagement session at the Dallas Arboretum. Heather had a vision of being surrounded by nature and flowers, and the Dallas Arboretum was such a beautiful place to execute this vision. Our second location, Adriatica in McKinney was very familiar to the pair – this was the location of the sushi restaurant where they got engaged!

The Engagement Session at Dallas Arboretum

Our first scheduled session had to be rescheduled due to rain (and I swear it rained every day after that!). But the day of our session, we had beautiful weather! Once we got to the Arboretum, though, the wind started showing itself. Luckily, we were able to block the wind enough to get beautiful photos. The colorful tulips were beautiful to look at as they lined the walkways that we traveled on. Heather’s floral dress was complemented beautifully by the springtime blooms.

If you’ve never visited Adriatica in McKinney, TX, I highly recommend at least a drive through. This small area of McKinney looks like something out of a European city. Each building is made of beautiful gray rocks, lining the brick path. Then, nestled inside of it, is a pond that makes the area even more breathtaking. When we got there, the clouds had started overtaking the sky, giving us even overcast lighting. We spent the next bit exploring the area, and stopping at every beautiful spot we saw to take a few photos.
