Classic Black & White Wedding at The Olana

I’m finally getting around to sharing the wedding of Zeke & Diana. Diana got in touch with me last year about their wedding at The Olana, and I knew after talking with her I would love to photograph their big day. Their engagement photos were taken in Houston by my amazing associate shooter, so their wedding day was my first time meeting them, and they were just as great as they were over email!

All About Their Relationship

Although Zeke & Diana met 12 years ago in high school, the two of them started dated five years ago. The two of them quickly became a power couple as each of them helped and supported the other in building their businesses. The two of them were dedicated to each other and building a life with one another. One thing about the two of them that stood out to me was that they each learned the other’s native language to communicate with family – Zeke learned Spanish and Diana learned Arabic. When it came down to the proposal, Zeke gathered the pair’s friends and rented a lake house at Lake Conroe. He surprised her by popping the question by the water.

Their Big Day at The Olana

Zeke & Diana tied the knot at The Olana in Hickory Creek, Texas. They went with an elegant black and white color scheme with pops of blush. Their wedding felt like something out of The Princess Diaries, with the classic design scheme (Gavin Wedding and Events did an amazing job!) along with Diana’s princess gown. She looked like royalty walking down the aisle! It was a chilly and windy day, but the two of them still said “I do” and became husband and wife.

There were many special events and traditions that took place at their wedding. The pair tried to incorporate customs and traditions from the other’s culture. As the couple made their grand entrance to the reception, they were accompanied by Arabic performers. Zeke & Diana danced to to the beat, and were quickly joined by their wedding guests. It was truly a party at this point! Later on in the night, a mariachi band joined the reception. Guests loved the entertainment that Zeke & Diana carefully planned out.
