A Lakeside Proposal

March 18th, 2018

Baxter first reached out to me months ago as he was planning the perfect proposal for his beautiful girlfriend, Madison. He wanted everything to be amazing and wanted portraits to reflect that. Together, we worked to capture the most beautiful love story as told through photography.

The Proposal

Baxter had his proposal planned for the Fourth of July weekend at his childhood home on Grand Lake. He and his family decorated the backyard to be a romantic oasis for Baxter get down on one knee. Fairy lights were strung throughout the trees and greenery. On the rock pad where Baxter would be proposing was a podium that hosted champagne and two glasses to celebrate what was to come. At the foot of the podium sat a portrait of Baxter & Madison’s two dogs. He had put so much thought into this special moment for Madison and it showed in the details.

Madison arrived that evening under the impression she was going to a party. Much to her surprise, she was walking into a moment that she would remember for the rest of her life. The two of them embraced as Baxter shared some sweet words with her. It didn’t take her long at all to say the biggest “yes” of her life. Then, their families welcomed with congratulations!

The Party

After the big moment, Baxter & Madison were showered with love at a party hosted by Madison’s parents. Believe it or not, these two did not even know each other in school, despite the fact that Madison’s parents also own a house on the lake. However, you wouldn’t know that based on the amount of love in the room. The two families mesh so well together that you would think they had been family forever! Their night was filled with good company, toasts, and lots of cell phone pictures of Madison’s ring!
