I met Sydney, the owner of Chosen Event Design + Planning, by chance. I was planning a styled shoot and she had offered to help on Facebook. Social media is a wonderful place, y’all! Sydney is such an incredible human being, designer, AND planner! She has an eye for detail and a heart of gold.

I wanted to Sydney to be my first featured vendor for Friendor Friday (Friend/Vendor) because, although she’s new to this business, she is truly incredible.

About Chosen Event Design + Planning

Hi Everyone! A little about me..hmmm.. I am the owner of Chosen Event Design +
Planning. When I am not working on this new business, I am an artist through and
through. I love creating and designing beautiful pieces of work along with admiring
others creativity. I love real authentic TACOS (if you don’t squeeze a lime on top of a
taco, is it even a taco?) I am an outdoors fanatic. Hiking, running, kayaking, and working
in the yard, bring me so much joy. Oh and I might get overly attached to any animal I
see.

You guys!!! Sydney literally took the idea of this ceremony piece and DREW IT. When she sent me the photo, I could not believe how incredibly amazing it was. It was even more amazing seeing that vision come to life.

What services does Chosen offer? What are your packages and prices like?

Chosen offers full-service planning, partial planning and day-of services. No matter the
package, I love the opportunity to be a part of this most special season in couple’s lives.
(My pricing is about to change so I may not put it out there right now). We also offer
florals! It is like a two in one shop. This allows me to use a little of my creativity to put
unique touches on your wedding.

Chosen’s Business Journey

Event planning definitely found me! It is cool how God always provides the right doors
and at the right time. Definitely not a coincidence that Chosen is now a thing. I fell in love
with event planning while working in grad school. I planned my own wedding and then
became obsessed with the journey of planning weddings. I worked for a planner for a
year and then decided to take the leap of faith and venture off on my own. Then came
about Chosen! And being a business owner has been one of the best, most challenging
decisions I’ve made. I love this job and how it constantly pushes me to learn how to
better serve the people around me!

What is the difference in a planner and day of coordinator?

Great question! A wedding planner helps from beginning to end. We are present at all of
your meetings, help create cohesion for your event, and relieve the stress throughout the
entire process. A day-of coordinator steps in and carries out the details the couple plans
by themselves. Day-of coordinators are not a part of any of the planning other than the
last minute details.

What would you say to a bride and groom who can’t decide if they need a wedding planner?

Do it! You will be so glad you have one in the end. You may think you can plan alone,
but will be so glad you don’t have to when the to do lists start piling up.

Advice to Brides

It is YOUR day! The pressures are very real when you are an engaged couple. Everyone
has great advice to give, but sometimes it can be overwhelming, especially when it
comes to planning your wedding. You definitely need to respect and honor the special
people in your life, but don’t allow the mass of opinions to steal the joy of planning out
your day.
